// TRADING TERMINOLOGY

What is Ask Price?

The price a seller is willing to accept for a security.

In-Depth Explanation

Also known as the "offer" price. When you are "buying" (going long), you are buying at the ask price. It is always slightly higher than the bid price.

Practical Example

"The quote for EUR/USD is 1.0800 / 1.0801. You buy at 1.0801 (the ask)."
